Xe rev counter baffling me

Right ive connected the loom green wire to my old spi rev wire near the old coil position. then i connected the loom connector at the coil wireing to both the pos and neg of the coil but still no rev counter any gen.

this is a dissy XE.

also if i put the wire onto the pos on the coil it cuts the engine out.

The SPi coil rev wire goes to the SPi ecu.
And then from the ecu to the rev counter.
Its not a direct link to the rev counter

Thats why it no longer works.

Ah right thats what i thought also which side am i connecting coil wire to is it pos side ad.
