about the 1.6 8v turbo conversion.

Im getting blue smoke when i come off the boast, i've been told i need an uprated breater system. The engine has been rebuild and done only 7K with the turbo being rebuild at the same sort of time i.e turbo bearings and seals. iT'S NOT DONE BY COURTANEY. :(

If for some reason your oil breather is vented into the intake system then it is quite likely that a fair bit of oil is being fed in there as well. Best thing to do is to block off the breather into the cam housing and put a longish pipe onto the crank breather oil catcher with a filter on it and have it venting to somewhere convenient.

Otherwise it can either be:
1. Valve stem oil seals - not likely if they were changed at the re-build
2. Worn/damaged rings and bores - quite likely in a turbo engine
3. leaking turbo - not likely cos you say its done naff all miles
