i know of one with a red top, owned by a guy called will and the reg ended ufo. he extended the front by 9 inches to get the xe in and said it wasnt worth the hassle. for a+b road blasting fit a 1800 vvc k series and a type 9 box. all the bits are avail off the shelf.

My dad has had a Morris for 30 odd years. Its a 1.4 A Series with a Minisport Turbo setup up (stage 3 I think), it has has had loads of engines in Fiat Twin Cams ect and been in Mags back in the day, I keep blagging him saying come on dad put an Xe in it or a Fiat Coupe Turbo engine but he spent so much on the A series he wont lol.

Would be interesting to see a red top one give him some inspiration, have a look at the Nick Man one

a std moggie is hilarious full stop.

sticking a bigger A series lump in would be great fun.

or

get looking at the american moggie websites.... there are loads of things they do to them... rx7 engines, toyota & nissan conversions.

the major problem is the position of the steering rack.... and as the steering is the best bit on a moggie, it can be a major problem

if you get the engine far enough back, then you could look at something like a chevette complete front axle assy, or look at ha viva based hot rod stuff.

personally, i'd say to junk the trunnions & torsion bars asap as they just break.

Stick with what you know.

Not the all alloy, more tuneable, more reliable, more powerful etc etc alternative - that is also cheaper. lol

he is used to majorwork, twinbike engined reliant kitten and a new mini with a bowler wildcat engine in the back were the last two projects he has built so he lives for pain in the **** jobs

fine, remember this. the moggie was designed to take a flat four engine in the first place, that is why the engine bay is short & wide.....

subaru power???? there are quite a few donor cars about & its way more power than a redtop

He's got the VX blinkers on mate.Boxer engine would be a good plan. You can pick rusty/damaged Classics up for buttons now.
