I dont see what the fuss is. Needs to be on a mk1 though. Just like mk2 bumpers need to be on a mk2.

It seems to be the current trend in here to pick up on this stuff. lol

I'm not a huge snowplough fan, a lot of the time the skinny one piece 'Sport' front revs my engine.

I liked them, then everyone went mad for them, now I still think they're cool but wouldn't have one for myself. I opted for the after-market option for my Novas.

I'll admit on the right Mk1 in a 70s colour they look the business....therefore the ONLY car i think they look good on is Simon's Brown one.

Iv got a A reg sr and would look out of place without one.

I like them. Still waiting for the furore over them to die down further though, as there was a mad phase for them last year, before I fit one to mine (along with the 4 or 5 other front ends I have for it :d)

I do have one, brand new from Opel via Duick, still in the packaging. I'd want to paint one black though so I'm a little undecided about using that one. Or I could just hold onto it for a few years til its worth a few quid lol

I like them, was fitted as standard on my merit, and it looks very different especially compared to the gte and back then many were doing a GTE front end etc. But it got a bit too oversued by everyone so their unique look got a bit less... unique.

I still wouldn't change my front end. And being hard to come by it's still stands out.

i think its more of a case of people don't want to pay the price they now fetch.

glad i got a brand new one now, don't think there is any chance of getting a new one now.

Nope, shock horror some people actually have different tastes :p I prefer the later mk1 sr/gte bumpers or the pov spec very early/sport mk1 bumpers :)

Does 'plough' refer to an early MK1 SR front spoiler?

Bloody love them on an old SR!!!

Being a teenager in the late 80's was a time for getting sexually excited at things like large factory spoilers on cars,.....not like today where we're surrounded by some utterly dreadful and tasteless bodykits :(

Seeing an A reg white Nova SR with a plough was a treat back then and I still like their simple lines now.

i hate them.

i think they look like the top part of a poverty spec bumper with a big sheet of cardboard stuck on the bottom and then a splitter. ruin the look of the nova imo, and i think a lot of people say they like them just becuse they feel they have to because they are retro.

i dont think people would say they like them if they dont tbh :wisewood:
its all personal preferance and as said they look the bees knees on a mk1 SR :thumb:

A vaild point really. I got my 4 years ago before a wagon load jumped on, I wanted it to be different but now it's a trend. I still like it and not taking off though.

Possibly true, but I and many like them because they're aesthetically pleasing. Not ALL retro efforts are worth celebrating.

you are so right.. that's the reason i love them, and i love lada's, and other **** things from the 80's... we dont have a opinion, we are all sheeps, following the great leader. :(

i bought mine just before the trend started. i understand lynz's choice, eventhough her car was pure porn with the plough on.

i'm not selling mine, (euro foglight version) but big chance that i'll remove it, and put it back on when there 'stupid' again:thumb:

my previous nova was a parchment beige 1983 mk1 3dr with a gte engine, early brown interior, gte skirts, lowered 30mm, opel 6j14 silver steelies, an sr type rear spoiler & a plough.
i bought it in 1993
it lasted until 2001

I loved that car. it looked really cool in my opinion, the plough had been bought to cover rust long before the original png even existed.....

the plough had a chunk missing after the missus was bringing me back from a pissup & went over a bridge about 30mph more than she should....

Oddly, I just never took a photo of the car.

my x from many moons ago had a brown mk1 nova with a snowplough on it - An A reg 1.2 - fecking thing was built like a tank - at a junction with an early ford firsta hatchback in front and the donkey in it hit reverse rather than 1st - slammed backwards into us!

The whole of the rear of thew fiesta just caved in - the snowplough didnt have a sratch! Was absolutely hilarious (at the time) - just a tiny weeny chip out of our number plate!

lol

Snowploughs - named for a reason!

Look good too especially on a sport!
