Hi there, new to this site but not new to Vauxhall ownership had many in the past. Im just about to start a 2.0 16v conversion in a 1.4sr. Have read a lot about the conversion but any helpfull info / tips would be great.

Welcome along dude, theres plenty who are doing or have done that conversion on here, they'll soon be on hand to give plenty advice & tips.

Cheers seems a lot of information on here as well but sure i will get stuck sooner rather than later......
just make sure you have all the parts. including brakes and fuel pump/tank method.
also thing about changing water pump and cam belt whilst the engine is out. not easy after they are fitted unless you are planning to take out again at later date.
if the shell is in great condition, you should be ok. if its not so good, think about stitch welding the shell up around the bay.

Yeah got some work to do to the shell 1st but im changing a few things as well, will show as a project on here when i start. On the hunt for an engine now!!
like seany said , just make sure you have all the parts and you wont go wrong , we have done loads in a weekend now including old engine being removed , and never have a prob ,
just factor in the unless you can weld yourself , mating the exhaust can be the hard/expensive part that gets forgot about ,

Thanks for the tips, are there any lists of the parts required for the conversion eg, hubs, driveshafts etc??

have a read HERE (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86668) mate
drive shafts with big inner cv's
fuel pump (corsa mpi internal pump or gte/gsi external with swirl pot tank)
brakes
manifold - exhaust system to be mated up (flexi pipe join or weld up)
nock in inner wing for alt or cut and re-plate box section.
cut off pulley for power steering.
dont forget oil, atf and new coolant
engine mounts, incl gear box spacer.
