F10 On a E16SE

Now i know what everyone is going to say, they came out of the factory with an F13 for a reason blah blah ....

But, what do they go like on an F10? I have an F13 on mine atm which is ok in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but when you put it in 4th it just dies and 5th is even worse!

the bellhousing is too small

it sounds like you have an f13WR box.... have a look on the casing to see....

an f13cr has quite short 4th & 5th gears, & won't cause it to die...

Also an F13 CR box won't say F13 on it below the gear selector bit that moves...Should be stamped somewhere on the side IIRC

My Box says F13 Underneath the gear selector, so does this mean its an F13WR? I shall have a look tomorrow at the box to see what i has stamped on it. It will fit if i use the flywheel and starter off a 1.0 wont it?

it just says f13!! i had the box replaced after it went on me on the severn bridge..

the actual starter bracket on the block casting is the problem....thus the f13 is the box you need...

now std f10 5speed boxes have the same gears as the std f13, so there is no gain....

f13cr is fitted to 12v corsa b's & they are cheap on the bay.....

as stated above, it is a wr box in your car

So a F13Cr is the best option? So a Cr box DOES NOT have F13 stamped on the top by the gear selector?

No problem :) It should say on the side of it (looking in from the inner arch whether it's a CR or WR box but I'm 99% sure that an F13 CR box does NOT say F13 below the gear selector as I have one on my 1400 8v engine for my Mk1 and it doesn't say anything
