My mate has a mk 3 astra and his core plug shot out when his water froze, We have taken all the manifold and every thing off so there is a clear space but we just cant get the dam thing in we have bin at this for 2 days now. could any one give some help on how to pop these things in please?:confused:

have you tried a tapping it with a socket and a hammer?

yea mate do you know what mil the core plug is ment to be because its a 36mm vauxhall dealer said that it is the correct one but it just dont look like its going to go in.

have you bought new ones ? as i dont think you can re-use them once they pop.
might help if u take out the rad and front bumper so youve got a clear passage thru to smack em in
What about cleaning the hole in the block? Maybe corrosion etc is stopping it from going in.
Sand paper around the hole, then use a large sockut to tap it.

warm up the block so it expands a bit then tap it in, it needs to be a tight fit

iv tryed all of that but not warming the block i was going to do it but i would have to put the radiator back on, iv propper been wacking it aswell. thanks for the help i think we are just going to have to send it to the local garage its there problem then lol

Double check you have the right diameter core plug. Also as Liam said, clean the hole and use a socket that will sit just inside so as not to damage the plug. Why send it to a garage?
