just everywhere. have a very good look over.

nothing major goes. if it has an MOT then i would say its bound to be ok mechanically.

but rust, everywhere. poke loads of places. behind both bumpers is a common spot. behind wings. bottom of doors.

Rust is everywhere

if you cant see any rust without taking anything off your doing well! imo lol

Repair panels are always available mate, ebay, migweb, on here couple of shops online etc etc.

Doors are a pain to get hold of. Especially drivers ones.

Rear arch repair panels are still available afaik (as you can weld, they will be relatively easy to fit), and front wings are fairly common on here (they're about 9 or so bolts to remove and refit, dead easy).

Rear spring cups rust, chassis legs rust, sill panels rust. Battery tray, front wheelhouse, around the headlights, front valance. Corners of the boot. Thats probably the most common places for rust, along with wings and doors.

Most other things are relatively simple fixes, electrics are basic as you like so no real problems there. As for engines, the worst thing is probably a head gasket fail so look for spunk in the expansion tank. Again, not a hard job to do a head gasket, would probably set you back £50 and a days worth of work DIY.

Don't believe mileage unless it has FSH, same as any other car really.

We should make a sticky in general topics, so new users/members can read "where to look for rust spots" lol even though most will know, it's everyare...

Might be worth doing for new comers buying guide.
