hi all my nova is a 1.2 carb modle but its got a 1400 cam in it and im not sure if its a 1400 head im just woundering what carb would be best to put on as it keeps fouling the plugs.
i dont want twin webbers i just think it would be better with like a twin choke on it.
thanks in advance rick.

should be the 1b carb on it mate if its the 2e from the 1400 then it could be over fueling causing the fowling on your plugs. or origanal carb running rich

i ran my homemade 10:1cr 1400 on a std 1.2 carb, and it was set up by a very good mechanic called ken & it went very quick & still did 35mpg.

standard carb should be fine, i wouldnt bother with the twin choke 2e, nothing but bloody hassles that carb is, the 1b's a good faithfull carb that wont give u any crap.
if its fouling the plugs that means its running too rich right ?
try givvin the mixture screw a half turn or 2 (i think its clockwise to lean it)
check on the side of the head for a big 12 or 14 to confirm which it is, it'll run like horse manure if its got a 1.4 on it.
cheers for the neg rep too btw, only trying to help.

abotu the same as a mates 1.3 sr, but didnt use as much fuel.

(edit) i also bodged my 2e and took the auto choke off made it to manual. hell of alot easier!

his car must have been knackered if a 60 hp 1.2 could keep up with it

it was easy, used standard 1.2 choke cable, few block connectors cut up haha worked a treat

most old motor factors used to sell auto choke replacement kits...

its much easier to find a 32/34 twin choke webber with auto maunal already on it, didnt they make a smaller choke size one ?
