you'll struggle on a 1.4 mate, try churchill or direct line, a 1.2 for my first year was 1300 fully comp which is good
It's a shame the 1.4 SR is a group 7, a 1.3 SR is only group 5 makes a hell of a lot of difference
If its standard, try comparison websites to begin with. Sometimes adding a more experienced second driver will help lower the premium.
Pick up the phone and ring as many insurance companies as you can, make a note of the best prices and play them off against each other.
At the end of the day, a group 7 car - especially a Nova - will be expensive to insure as a first car. Expect to pay at least £1500.

I had one at 18 with zero no claims & was paying £1400 F/C.

I wouldn't try Sky in this instance, as he'll have 0 NCB and I believe they required >19 years old with >2NCB.

start ralling and insure it as competition car ;) i pay 1300 a year and covered to do road rallys and road sections between stage rally. everything declared and agreed valuation of £3500 and no limitations other then under 1400cc on my policy. but you have to join motor club and prove you rally :s

correct!!
try fully comp as well as 3rd party fire and theft because when i bought my sri i was going to go 3rd party fire and theft but just thought id try a quote on full and it turned out to be cheaper for some reason might just be my age but worth a try anyway. ( just dont go on parents insurance i made that mistake first year coz it was a lot cheaper but come the second time round when i got my own insurance it was still as expensive coz i had no no claims
