had a braking problem the other night, the slider had jammed in the caliper, was talking to a mate an he said this is meant to be a common fault on the caliper what other common faults are there?

yes you have shitty delco calipers.
Change them for ATE ones- either late nova ate ones, or bigger astra ates with bigger discs.

in my current frame of mind I'd say list whats right with the nova!

However common faults imo are -

rusting arches/boot (early models), door bottoms rusting, early delco brakes seizing/sticking, poor brakes on lower models, interior noise above 60mph (poor sound proofing), sh1te on cold starts (winter) regardless of air box fitted and unknown leaks in passenger/driver footwells.

Other than that its sound. Not bad for an oldish car

ironically that's what i had planned to do i've had the ate calipers in my garage for about 3 weeks, nova comes off the road tonight and was gonna do them next week, think they wanted revenge for it!
