I have CAD files that appear to be locked to a certain degree. I am wanting angle dimensions but don't seem to be able to access them.

Is there a different program I could use? Only using DWG True View at present.

To clarify here's a screenshot

I am interested in the roll cage dimensions.

I can bring up just the cage on the CAD viewer if it makes it possible that way, or is this not do-able?

What is the file saved as and Can you re save the file as an "iges" file? Then open that file up and you might be able to get to the cage? Not too sure as never used the program you are using...

Seem to be saved as dwg files mate. I wonder if that's because of the CAD viewer I'm using. I don't have the option to resave either?

I can access just the cage - in two/three layers.

Cool. That will enable me to see the angles and actually be able to say "that X has a 42 degree bend at this point" etc?

I have downloaded DWG TrueView 2010 and it has an option for angles. When I click it it seems to want me to map two points and then it is telling what the angle is - except it's an arc, not between the points like I want. lol

I am not ashamed to say I have no fcuking clue what I am doing. I want a crash course. Don't wana design anything, just rip it off. lol

FAIL.

Last image (for now) lol

As can be seen, I have plotted the two points in a straight line and it has said there is zero degrees difference which is obviously what I expected. After plotting the two points, I moved the arc to the second point and it stayed at 0*.

I get this lol. How would I plot a bend though?

This seems more like it.

I've took a few measurements from the body shell that I'm going to compare with my car too. See if I'm heading in the right direction.
