http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010387.jpg

to keep me entertained whilst I be off work doing sod all. Arrr!

Lest we begin, sort the essentials first:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010393.jpg

Tea in belly, time to start. Two manuals!

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010389.jpg

All the parts in their respective bags:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010388.jpg

As per usual, Lego don't really group their parts too well in the bags. But here be all the parts out said bags, all 1664 of them:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010390.jpg

Right, Minifigs first. Took a while as the parts were spread across 4 or 5 bags

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010391.jpg

Work begins on the hull, largest one yet for a Lego pirate ship

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010392.jpg

Back end of the hull built up, with kitchen area. Anyone for chicken?

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010394.jpg

Front end built, with prison area:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010396.jpg

eeek eeek

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010395.jpg

Hull sections put together:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010397.jpg

Building up the hull sides:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010398.jpg

Little bit of pimpin' bling detail down the sides:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010399.jpg

Supports for a beam that will run across the midriff of the boat and support an upper deck:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010400.jpg

Rudder! Ship can steer! Bit disappointed its not actually steerable like some of the older ships, but meh

Wasted half my life when I was 15 on the digital designer lol

Its awesome, and as always, lego is a better thing than any computer/games console player thingy:)

Its harder to use than LDD, but has almost a complete catalogue of pieces so better for making advanced models

Yes but in the absense of a childish voiceover i thought it might sound a bit more 6yr old than ' ah, I see you have lego, that is excellent'

sorry.....

TNG and Voyager finished, its time for more building!

Now the ship was starting to take shape, it was time for a more specialized tea to keep me going

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010405.jpg

Yes, monkeys pick that tea by hand. So, more tea in belly, I finished off the front end with the anchor:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010404.jpg

No ship is complete without a full complement of cannons!

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010409.jpg

There's 4 gunports on each side, but only 4 cannon in the kit. So I may have to pay a visit to bricklink and purchase more cannon. They're proper gunmetal coloured ones in this set, as opposed to normal grey of older Pirate sets.

First sail makes it onto the ship:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010408.jpg

Here's the end point of manual #1:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Lego/10210/13012010410.jpg

Large technic axles are used to add stability to the main masts. Centre grill lifts for access to gun deck.

More to follow later...
