Hi,
I'm not too sure if this has come up before, but do they sell a tow bar for a nova saloon, or would it be safe to get a hatch one modified as i allready have a hatch one the bolts to the spare wheel well.
Thanks

I tried my hatch one on there but it's too short touches on the rear valance, so i imagine i would have to have it extended a little bit

they make them didnt baxter extend a hatch one though
Iirc tow bars are now testable for this reason, if you use a strict test centre, they can fail your car if they think it looks ropey
They do indeed make them, Most are hard to get hold of as there too old and not approved etc.
Extend a hatch one or find one from ebay.
Edit: Referring to graeme's post, You may get some trouble, but as long as it dont look like two bits of wood stapled together you should be fine, VOSA checks usualy bring up anything but even then its rare etc.
Newer cars have to have approved towbars, this dont apply to older cars etc.

Dont see the problem if you extend the tow bar, using box sections and turn that welder up! (Smooooooooooooooookinnnnnnng) ((green mask voice impression)

thanks guy, im just going to ring around a few fabrication/ welding places, because my welding is, well shall we say not up to standards.
if you can wait until next week, Just ordered a clarke turbo mig welder can weld up to 6mm. Need to try it out & have a practice with it. Can you weld?

thats very kind of you, i do have a welder, but my welding goes as far as patching a hole into bodywork at the moment, i wouldn't trust myself to do a structual job, i didn't want to do my roll cage i had so i doubt i would do the tow bar, it's got to take the stress of about 400kg, (trailer and bike) i rang up speedweld in arborfield and they will extend it for me for £25 so not bad at all really.
i have a brand new saloon towbar in my workshop if you interested.
pm me a offer.
