Last night i put a fivers worth of petrol in my car and ive drove 6 miles and its flashing empty anyone got any ideas:thumb:

Put more in and see how it does, were you caning it?

A fiver? That barely fills a small jerrycan nowadays! I take it you had the fuel light on when you put the fuel in? My guess is you were probably 3 quids worth under the light point, so you ended up only 2 quid over.

ive got a digi dash and it was reading just over the first bar went to the shop and ack less than a mile got back flashing empty and it wasnt flashing empty when i put the petrol in:confused:

Have you tried putting a real amount of fuel in and seeing how it does?

yhea its usally over half full but even when i havnt got a lot in it never uses this much its insane will the cold weather play a part?

Cold weather usually means worse fuel consumption, yes.

As said, putting in "£xyz" amount and reading the needle is inaccurate (as fuel prices vary, and the gauge may not be reading right). You need to brim it, drive around lots, then brim it again. Miles / litres x 4.546 = MPG. Do it a few times so you get an average reading.

golf v6 4motion does 145miles to 30quid of super unleaded. which i think is about 25litres.
