I like the comments on that, "it looks factory" so the engine was installed too close the the offside chassis leg and on a slant to the rest of the bay by the factory were they?

it does make me laugh going from forum to forum and seing bad comment's about other makes of cars, for example your slating this xr3 with a redtop conversion, but go over to passionford and they will slate nova's etc. i personally like both and my childhood dream was to own an s2 rs turbo. atleast he's halfway there with the xr3 tho, using a vaux lump.

Allthough i,m not into fords (been there done that ) you have to appreciate the graft thats gone into making it fit and work, its just like Jack putting the saab engine into his nova :thumb: think how the the saab boys feel lol

Hmm. I think I may have to join a few Saab forums lol Having said that, I don't think my saab engine cover fits with the metal rocker covers, so its not obviously a saab unit any more :(

Well, it IS in a ford... so yeah, probably is factory fit lol

Yeah but we don't steal their engines to put in our Novas :d tis all banter anyway. What they should have done was put a decent engine in, 3S-GTE escort anyone? lol

my reason for hating fords......

1. my missus owned 2 mk3 escorts.... the first had a shagged engine & thankfully a lorry hit it, and the second was std with a shagged engine. I fitted a recon & it drove ok, I had a head on smash in it with a cavalier on an icy lane & i nearly died. the other driver got out and was ok.....
2. i had a head on smash in my first nova with a cavalier on a country lane and the nova came off better & i climbed out unhurt.

the mk3 escort was a badly made car that was way inferior to the astra mk1, but the xr3i came along at just the right time & replaced the capri as the 'lads' car. it was not much better than a std one, but sold like hot cakes.
