Yeah, got my mates 20xe corsa in bits because he cluncked it on the starter and the timing jumped because the waterpump was frozen solid.

Nah not engine freezing, but if i venture out of town, i cant get any heat through the heaters! Large peice of cardboard infront of the radiator is on the cards!

Used to have all the vents on my old hatch blanked off with duct tape one winter when it refused to hold a temperature lol

Haven't checked the saloon as its been US since before we had the big freeze. No doubt thats frozen solid, but its happened once before and it survived lol

Not having any problems on the corsa at the moment, plenty of anti-feeze in and the strength is ok aswell :thumb:

The nova had the anti-freeze replaced last year so that is ok.

Cant believe people don't check that the car has anti freeze in when it starts getting chilly.

Ice is colder than water, so it'll cool the engine better? Right? ...right? lol

Ice lives in drinks, not car water systems.

Heathen! Ice waters things down!

Dumbass bartender at the holiday park craig stayed in didn't understand the meaning of "southern comfort, straight". Should have thrown it in his face :(

Ah yes, but bartenders know bugger all. Pint glass, 6 ice clubs strongly* made Ribena with ice cold water... Funk it i'm having one now. Oooo i can top it off with some snow... Score.

*make it strong so when the ice melts it make its just right...

Not mine but my mates cav has a leaky rad that froze solid and almost cooked it lol

He works at an auto factors and they are no longer able to do any trade discounts on anti freeze as they are running low.

hmm.. talkin about this, i think i might have to drain a bit of mine and add some more to strengthen the mixture, not worth the risk is it.

we were at miunus 18 on Friday night and after I FINALLY managed to find the adapter for my weber carb to fit my bin lid my Sr purs luike an ikkle kitten!

The only thing I had frozen was my brakes - the rear n/s drum froze solid so much so I had to pour boiling water over the hub! Now park up at home in gear and handbrake off. Also Servo unit went the other day - had no brakes at all! Swapped and all sorted.

No problems, thawed it out with a heater and it fired up and ran as normal.
