Going down to devon on sunday (Weather Permitting) with a mate to pick up this http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/1417154.htm
How do you change the box to a 5 speed, just a case of cutting a lug off?
Is it a roadside job, or would i need to get it ramped?
you will need to fit a 5 speed box, You can then cut the lug off to select 5th
i fitted my xe 5 speed from the 1.0 4 speed one without any problems?

You can swap the clusters and diff over and then just cut the lug off the bottom of the gearstick inside the car. :)

Ahh the good old "vauxhall left 5 gears in the box, but only let you select 4" Myth! Fit a 5 speed box, then chop the lug off the selector!
Nobby, you don't need to chop the lug on mk2's.

simply get a 5 speed stick assembly from a scrappy. it is a lot less trouble
oh, and make sure there is a 5 speed shifter box on the top of the gearbox.
