16v finally runnig

I have got my 1.6 16v running fine now after fiting the fuel tank and pump off of a GTE.

The only problem i am having now is that when i am crusing at about 1500 rpm in third and put my foot down the car almost dies....i havent got a proper air filter on it at the moment can that be anything to do with it?

the other problem i am having is that the cars steering is about 3 times heavier???

your steering should not be too much heavier, its not a very heavy engine.

It feels really heavy when trying to turn full lock.

i don't really know,
did you lower the car before you noticed this? more camber will make turning harder.
How are you top mounts?
check ball joints and track rod ends in case any have seized up
