What is the difference between mk1 & mk2 bonnet?

I quite new here and to novas, I bought a 1988 GTE a couple of months ago just need to get it back on the road!!

What is the difference between mk1 mk2 bonnets? I'm thinking of getting a carbon fibre bonnet but wasn't sure what this one was based on ?

Pre 87 bonnets have a different aperture for the bonnet stay. The earlier apertures are smaller and are just the bare metal, the later ones are larger with a plastic insert
