Does anyone know (Keith!) if there is any provision for hooking a Carcoon upto a car battery in a garage without electricity? Then re-charging the battery every few days. I've sent the company an email but no response as yet.

Thanks

Can't see why not. There are only 2 very simple fans to drive: they run off 240v mains to what looks like a transformer. If the fans run off 12v (which I think they do) then you are laughing.

Consumption is very low too, so I reckon a car battery should last a bit.

I've got an indoor/outdoor one- inside they are really good in keeping everything dry. Outside is not quite as impressive. Mine does leak outdoors, and if the wind gets up then the socket falls out of the fans and it deflates.

Thanks for that Olly, my garage rains in a little at the front so i was thinking about using one to keep the car in a completely dry environment. Im assuming the outdoor ones still have filters to absorb moisture? What is the difference between the two? Heavy duty material etc?

Sorry, mis read the question, at first.

I have an early indoor one @15 yrs old for my Rover SD1 Vitesse.

On mine the filters stop the dust, not moisture, it continually flows air theough the carcoon, over the car, I have put the car away wet with condensation in the headlamps, 24hrs later all dry!

Was in use continuously for 10 years before I bought the car, good investment
