Need to remove the valves on my C20XE head, just wondering do you need a specialist valve spring compressor or will your standard spring compressor do, as the valve springs sit a little bit into the head and arnt easily accessable.

Any should do but may need some adjusting. Mine worked fine on my mates XE.
ive just got a normal valve spring compressor and yes its not easy but then it never is
i had to add to my normal sized one. if you havent got one yet get a larger one. of take a look at my WIP thread. and it has pics of where i enlarged it. and it worked fine:)

The other mechanic at work has a novel way of stripping a head, he gets normally a 19mm impact socket, a bit of rag, and a big hammer lol hits the valve spring, pops the colletts out and bobs your uncle. Wouldn't recommend using that method though lol
