my missus got -11.5 at 3am. i got -10 at 7.15am.

we had machines with diesel that was so cold that it was turning to wax.......

we had to drain the filters, pump the tanks out, put winter fuel additive in & refill them...only on the common rail ones though

December last year, when I first started doing night closure external work for the Highways agency, the first night at 1am we recorded a -13.5 figure from a cherry picker parked under a "over bridge" on the hard shoulder of the A42 by Ashby De La Zues.

Its was fcuking well icey & the windchill was insane!

you lot should be happy, im sure the pipes have frozen on the central heating because it cuts out as soon as it cuts in, so im sat here with my hood up, gloves on and a supply of tea from a pint mug lol

Very weird mate!! I ventured into the town in head to foot high viz overalls wearing a safety harness at about 6am one morning before heading home, everyone was looking at me like a fecking weirdo lol lol

Could understand if I didnt have a LWB Welfare van next to me plastered in reflective shevrons & a mobile disco of roof lights/rear door strobes/front corner strobes all flashing away lol

ours keep doing that due to a bad installation. the condensation drain pipe hasnt got enough of a run off so freezes. which means the water trap fills and cuts the boiler out. worth a check on yours instead of sitting there freezing

I had -7 when I left for work at 7am, it was -2 when I exited work at 1pm. Pretty cool.

I'm a delivery driver for Sainsburys, I'm having a blast driving round the lanes & moors at 20mph. 2 of our vans are stranded at the same place, one since Wednesday & another this morning. comical.
