the tip of a key from a lock lol
Nova blaady locks are sh1t, leave the car for
30mins and the locks freeze up
need advise on gettting the tip of the key out of my lock,
as forcing the key into a frozen lock isnt the brightest of ideas:roll:
also if someone can tell me the best way to de-ice a lock
once frozen (not de-icer) i mean is there 'a lil trick' to
de-ice i got told to breath on the lock to warm it up,
but that didnt work! :tard:

cheers in advance
Connor
rep if i can :thumb:

what type of car is it ? i assume nova . if so you will need a phillips head screw driver and a straight one to take the clip off around the window winder , remove door card and undo the bar from the interior hadle there will be a slide that goes over the back off the lock pull it off and bobs your uncle the locks out , bring the lock to local locksmith and he shouldnt charge no more than 3 or 4 quid , happened to me mate know what a pain it is but relativly easy to sort hope this helps ? . lol peace Nathan

best way is to remove the lock & strip it down, or get a spare one, and make it fit your key

De-icer sprayed in the lock. Yes you have to remember to NOT keep it in the car though.

My tigra lock likes to freeze, My nova hasnt had the problem yet? lol

^ lol

As Annie said lighter always works. To get the bit out though a strip down rebuild is order of the day.

Cnnt believe remove one on here doesn't have remote locking. I mean even a sparkright alarm can do it and for about 25 quid.

In this type of weather lock de-icer is needed tbh. Or go get remote locking :thumb:

if the tip of the key is snaped in the base of the lock it will not come out, as burgo said you will have to strip the lock down and fit you parts in another lock !
