Its full of stuff for tesco's, dad was saying.
He is a train driver and they have all had a text saying to keep applying the train brakes every 5mins or so, to keep them warm. Otherwise they freeze! Which is what is suspected to have happend in scotland!
Both drivers were unharmed and escaped with only minor injuries (Y)
whoops, at least there ok
Rah, looks exactly the level called "Derail" on Modern Warfare 2 lol lol
Oddly it looks like its been looted all ready...

must of been full of whiskey
Nowt to do with the snow as such, more the cold freezing up some of the electrics. The train will be loaded with sand, of which I bet the driver was (or should have been!) spraying on the track like a maniac!
I've seen 66's up close hauling hundred-long trains of hardcore out of Whatley. Never seen one move faster than about 15 mph lol
Its funny, in the summer they don't drive them as its too hot (no air con), and in the winter they fall over. Pretty useless loco really!

lol at ^^
That crash was due to driver error. Not the Loco!
Aslef are working on getting air con into the cabs of the class 66 & many other locos, but due to limited space in the cab its hard to find a place for it to live.

if a sodding ford Ka can have it, a hundred foot long train can easily have it!!!!
How will they get a 130 tonne loco out of the woods?!

I love it that there are so many people who are knowledgeable about trains on here - they are a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine and love getting the train up here where there's freight (there was nowt round where I used to live!). Saw a snowplough at Carlisle and the mrs couldn't understand what the excitement was about!

i once worked for a firm who repainted them in a yard in leicester. Vic Berry's for the rail enthusiasts.. i was only there for a few months till i found out just where the asbestos they stripped from rolling stock was being put... I handed my notice in straight away & was gone on the friday... lets just say that there are a lot more people in leicester who were exposed to asbestos than should have been.....

if a sodding ford Ka can have it, a hundred foot long train can easily have it!!!! but the cab is only about 5 foot tops from the window to the engine room! Theyre so cramped, and the seats are, or were so uncomfortable! danny, i have a lil room for trains to thanks to dad! Class 37 for me all the way. Has to be a block head loco, with a plow, in ews livery!

you can buy electric aircon units that fit in a cubic foot....and you can't tell me that all of the space in a train cab is taken up with control equipment, there is a panel somewhere that one would fit in.
Honk lol

the honk of a type 37 horn is awesome in a spray booth on a night shift....
I used to have to paint the cab interiors & we'd wait till some kid was painting the buffers & let it rip...... i've seen paint tins involuntarily come up past the windscreen.. bloody good job we could lock the doors
Train crash to train spotting geeks... Oh dear.

Westerns and Class 08s with the stripy ends FTW. 37s and 58s are pretty sweet too as I had toys of them in blue and railfreight colours :)
