Yes mate you ned to run the plastic lines from a later inj nova and also the furl tank as your 1liter tank only has a feed but the spi has both a feed and return and also allows you to run an intank fuel pump.:thumb:

Plastic? They are steel and drop to bits and spew petrol everywhere lol

Copper or Nylon lines are probably better than steel ones.

On a GSi/Sri etc yeah. The Spi's & later cars use plastic lines.
Any std GSi type steel pipes will be fooked by now. I've seen plastic used & with brass (anti crush) inserts pushed in the ends aswell. Then theres copper, easily bought from B&Q on a roll, though its not cheap anymore. 8mm OD is it??

Then you will need lengths of rubber injection hose to link up the return lines & pump into the system. The feed pipe from a GM MPi tank to a GM MPi pump is a larger bore again.

Yeah IIRC 8mm feed hose and 6mm return if I'm not mistaken.

I think on my GSi the tank to pump line was 10 or 12mm ID!! Various Motor factors all across town wondered what the hell I was building. I was only replacing perished old GM stuff.

Genius, so they built the smaller engined cars with better fuel lines than even the last SRi/GSi's? doh!

My parents weren't impressed when mine put a nice crater in the driveway with half a tank of petrol when the line decided to rupture!

I replaced with 8mm hose (using a small amount of steel line for the joins) with no problems.

the carb ones were, but for mpi, 8mm feed & return.

you can reuse the old feed pipe as the return, as it is not under pressure

Looks like I was mistaken :) Thanks for the tip Mowgli :thumb: Have some +rep

Remember you saying so Benn. Just to be on the safest side possible and coz it's fairly inexpensive I'm gonna uprate the feed hose.

Yep, pretty much all petrol vauxhalls use nylon/plastic lines now.

you can buy bulk rolls of nylon fuel line from decent hgv spares places, and get decent clips & fittings too

Nova_Tek

would it be best to use Nylon or copper lines?
