This colour scheme

I know theres been a few "show me pics" threads.

But i have an idea to paint my car and i dont know if anyones done it before.

My original idea a while ago was a WHITE mk1 SR With the black bumpers and black bottom of the car, but i decided to go red and just put black skirts on, now ive thought of doing it red with anthracite bumpers and an anthracite botom of the car with the bump strips along.

But ive only saw like 1-2 red mk1 SR's, anyone got any pics for inspiration ?

If you are spraying your car red i would just stick to black skirts and everything else red. I can't imagine the car looking anywhere near as good with the bottom half painted another colour, unless it was a standard mint sr.

So same thing really just wit the bottom half black and bump strips. id have to respray th wheels silver though because it will look odd with the same colour wheels.

Used to be loads of Red SR's, not so many now.

If you do a SR rep do a decent one, so you cant see its just a 1.2

Well the car has got the SR bumpers and ive chose a GSi spoiler instead of an SR and i have a non grab handle boot, but i wont be fitting the SR decal on the boot.

If i went for this plan the car would look like this

i think im starting to prefer the SR look, dont think ive seen one like that with silver slabs before.

Bumpers, grille, skirts in black or grey and keep the lower half of the car red would be my choice.

I'm never too sure re red cars and the lower panels greyed out.

I think it suits lighter cars due to the contrast but the darker the colour the more messy imo...

Although as said theres not many red SR lookalikes about - or originals for that matter.

If doing sides in paint though make sure you use the proper satin finish otherwise it'll look gash

I own an early red sr and am having my cesaros done the same as the bottom half of the car. I could send you some pics once its done if you want? Probably be a month or two till I get the money together though, as they need tyres and I've got debt to pay off before I can splash the cash again.
