Im looking to get me a nova. the wishlist includes:

a 2 litre conversion
bike carbs
decent head with serious mods
wild camshaft
sports exhaust

But back in the real world, due to my limited mechanical 'skills' im probably gonna get a standard 1.2 and moan after a week that its not powerful enough and i dont have the cash/experience for said wishlist.

I do however have experience with tinkering with cars and am confident i could fit bolt-on bits without too much hassle :d but what would a 1.2 benefit from the most? exhaust? better camshaft? different carb? (unless its an i)

Any pointers would be appreciate!

thanks

if its carb

1.3 carb, 1.3 cam, 1.3 manifold. good luck finding them lol.

1.4 16v from corsas and tigras. they are ten to as penny. and relatively easy to fit

8 or 16Valves?

'serious mods' on the head + wild cams... you plan on new pistons for deeper cutouts for the valves to go.

Plus imho bike carbs will be a sack of turd on a GOOD spec build

chances of me getting anything like that are minimal, its gonna be something cheap and cheerful like an exhaust and cam :)

do you need a launcher for any websites for your blackberry?

the best proven (tryed and tested) way is 100Bhp shot of laughing gas

as said 1300 carb and cam ..4 branch manifold stainless exhaust.. then get head work done ported polished skimmed timing advanced good service !if you want you could change the crown wheel and pinion 4:1.8 or 4:5 are mostly used.. air filter maybe not really much off an advantage just makes noise just get a k&n element for the standard pan filter.

Dont bother the engine will only end up in a 100 pieces, scattered across the road lol wait and save for a bit and get a little 1.4 8v for a bit of fun easy to fit wont cost you must, then save save save for xe big block :)

That's what everyone does when they see your engine go up in a mix of steam & smoke... (yes I know n2o is laughing gas)

You can't go far wrong from the tuning guide in the tech archives/guides section.

get your 1.2 sort the style sort the handling then save while doing this then convert or upgrade, dont waste money on an engine that your going to replace. 1.3 1.6 2.0 2.0,16v 2.0turbo youll find them all on here when you have the money:thumb:

as above - dont bother tuning a 1.2 if your long term intentions are to fit a bigger engine to the car - just stick to the bodywork - get the shell in good strong condition and put the money you would have spent tinkering on to the bigger engine/parts...
