Does anyone know can the combustion chamber volume be worked out accuratly by just knowing the engine capacity, no. of cylinders and compersion ratio, eg. 1396cc 4cyl engine with a C.R of 9.5:1......1396/4(no. of cyl)= 349/9.5(C.R)=36.74, i know in this case it works but does it work in all cases? I am asking as i need to know the chamber volume of heads that i do not have.
Thanks
its 'rough' as it dosent take into account rounding of the CR etc but my sig link has the calculator you want ;)

yeah and also things like piston cutouts that you wouldnt have measured, if the piston dosent come to the top of the bore etc.
can also include the area around the piston rings but thats usually ignored.
