non nova, corsa b sport 1.6 stiff gears

I picked this up a few weeks before christmas but iv noticed the gears are quite stiff and has an aggressive crunch into reverse after a short drive. i believe its a f15cr box and has had a new clutch and new gear stick. could it need a service to resolve this i.e oil and adjustment?

any help would be great.

check the clutch first

Clutch cable needs adjusting prob.
Where abouts is the biting point at the mo?, if its not clutch cable its prob gearbox.

Oil wont make a massive difference on a manual.

Where does the clutch bite? Right near the bottom of the travel??

Are gears easy to select with the engine not running??

bite is very low and gears are easy to select when engine is not running

Reset gear linkage and adjust clutch cable

Linkage is fine then, its the clutch that needs adjusting.
Wind the cable up to make the pedal sit higher :)

so tighten the cable and the pedal should go up slightly?

As above! Just poorly adjusted. Wind it in a few turns untill the bite point is right :)
