Some theiving little tosser has helped themselves to my pride and joy, it was taken just before christmas in the wrexham area (north wales). the bike is worth nearly £4,000 and to say im devistated is an understatement. there arent many of these bike around so if you happen to see 1, i would greatly appreciate being told. it has a 'www.jejamescycles.co.uk' sticker on the rear swing arm. this has stopped me taking part in this years events, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I take it you use local area based mountian biking sites an such like? For what it worth, id contact MTB Mag an see if you can get a "wanted" ad, to potentially pose as buying your own bike back kinda thing.

Given the price of it, I guess not many people at all own one??

scumbags. They need to be hung drawn and quartered. Trouble is the law is too lenient on them. A slap on the wrists and please don't do it again if they do get get caught, or they get put into a cell for a night. I think they should use thieves as fossil fuel for power stations. That way solving the need to source fuels from abroad and also emptying the overcrowded prisons.

If it was the lad you pissed off recently, you must have pissed him off big style, if someone pissed me off I wouldn't go and pinch/damage their property unless they truely deserved it, which even then is still childish... But fun lol

i cant find where i wrote the serial number down.... devistated! even if it is a different colour its verry VERY easy to tell the year, model type just by looking at frame shape and components.

It will be rattle can black, with the numbers ground off by now!

The police xray the metal now, and can pick the numbers up pish easy, they did this with a mate motorbike.

If you get it back, find the people, knock them out, insert a soldering iron, and plug it in:)

Drain pipe + barbed wire into rectum then remove the drain pipe /joins keyboard vigilantism.

Sorry to hear conad. Awesome bike mate and I will keep an eye out and mention it to my mate who works in Halfords up here and is well into MTB's as are the lads in the bike section.

One question though, and sorry if you already said, but why if it was nicked before xmas have you just posted on here now? I understand forums are the last thing on peoples mind during that time, but I reckon I would have spared 5 mins.

Hope justice comes your way mate!

Hia mate i know i am a long way from you but a group of my mates are all downhill roders and do some events so can tell them to keep an eye out and also are you on pinkpike.com alot of bikes go on there for sale. was it not insured mate??

conad
08-01-10, 03:29 PM
cheers pal, more the merrier. no, it was going to cost £500 a year to insure so was going to wait untill i was racing... i foolishly thought it was hidden/locked away well.

would your house contents insurance not cover this , you must have receipts etc etc

conad

08-01-10, 09:59 PM
check pinkbike mate, lots of folk on there to help keep an eye out for you and lots of stuff for sale. check gumtree aswell.
I got all my bikes covered on house insurance, but for future reference go to ctc they will insure you fully fairly cheap and give you legal cover and all sorts of other stuff aswell i think. My dad looked at it because we went over the limit the contents would cover on bikes( £10k I think).

time to get it insured now though, just think how you felt and think how much you dont want to have that feeling again.

well, 1 of my best mates (also a riding buddy), his dad is 1 of those characters who knows everybody and everything that goes on in the area, he was spreading the word that my mate wanted a new bike, sombody phoned him up on saturday night saying there was a kona stab supreme for sale but wouldnt give any more details than that i.e where from or who the seller was. he wanted £500 or threatened to break up the bike (i think they knew the conection between me an him and knew id buy it). the person who phoned him is 1 dangerous mofo and notorious around this area, so i jumped at the chance with no funny bussines. if i got the police involved, god only knows what the comebacks would of been.
