View Full Version : Rear axle disc conv. question
Hi all !!
I started nova project couple months ago. I would like to change my regular rear axle with disc conversation from astra gsi or cav 2.0L. I bought one kit from M-tech whatever inc. When I received it and I started to think how it'll be done. They sent one article which explains almost (!) everything. Where I'm stuck is calipers. There is no place on the axle to connect calipers. So, any body try this conversation ? Any idea ?
Pls, help me
Welcome,
The callipers bolt to the hubs, so when you have the hub in place you'll see where it bolts too.
Its really not worth fitting rear disc tho.

As benn said. Only worth putting rear discs if you've got bias pedal box :)
Remove the complete hub and disc assembly from the donor and fit to the nova beam, after you've welded on the plate.
Thx for replays. I think I don't need bias pedal box for daily driving :)
I agree there a total waste of time, but look far better

The rear disk setup works well on mine ;)
I'm using VXR front brakes and now trying to setup cavalier rear brakes. Still in progress... I believe brakes are enough for 1.4lt stock engine :)

Yeah they'l be fine for daily use. The only nova I ever drove with disc conversion and no pedal box was dangerous when braking hard as back end would snatch. Could just been the way the lad set them up though :)
I think it's about 3/20 regulator. When you put the right regulator, you will be fine I believe. When I test the system, I'll write down :)
Will be fine, but disc don't make braking any better at all. Mine have made it worse.. Getting a handbrake cable set up can be hard too.
