View Full Version : If you only make one resolution this year
...let it be to check yourself regularly.
As most of you are aware, I'm starting the year lop sided and just finishing a course of chemotherapy for cancer. October last year saw me diagnosed with testicular cancer - luckily my doctor was on the ball (no pun intended) and sent me for a check straight away so it was caught early, yet I've seen so many fellow patients over the past few months who either didn't go to the doctors because they "thought it was nothing" or "hoped it would go away"; or their doctors simply sat on their problems without doing anything for months on end. I got off relatively lightly because I did something about it, and quickly.
It takes a few minutes every few days just to have a quick feel (and lets face it, most of us don't need an excuse for a quick fumble). Don't be afraid to go to your doctor, anything unusual get it checked out. They've seen it all before.
Most of you should be starting the year with two nuts. Look after them. :thumb:

jesus bud how old are you ? yeah my misses regulary has a check i dont mind quite like it , glad your a winner as some dont win and it goes to far, what sort of garatee do you get when they remove it ? do you have 2 check more reg than normal?
I'm 27. The chances of me having it pop up in my other one are apparently no more than getting it in the first place but that won't stop me from keeping an eye on things lol
I was put in for an orchidectomy 4 days after being diagnosed (diagnosed on Friday 9th, was under the knife Tuesday 13th) but then had a CT scan a few weeks after the op and it was found to have spread. Hence a few months of chemo, which should have cleaned me up.
wise words rj, most people under the age of 40 think they are unbreakable & these things only happen to older people. cancer has a habit of appearing almost randomly at any age.

Dam kinda on topic i guess how does it feel down there, does it feel like something has been taken away or like your "man hood" has been taken away from you? Or doesnt it really feel any different?
At least they found it early and sorted sounds like a top docter :thumb:
All the best
cheers for the advice mate, and hope everything stays good for you in the future :thumb:

Doesn't actually feel any different at all tbh. I don't feel like I'm missing anything, haven't had "phantom nut" (lol) - although I was told you can have a prosthetic one put in I didn't bother as its only a further risk of infection. Performance wise, the remaining jobber more than makes up for being on its own lol
I do feel the scar though, thats about 6" long and just at the top of my groin. Its not painful (and never really was, even just after the op) but I know its there and can feel it.

+ Rep didnt realise that mate.

The way I see it, the more people that know about this kinda thing the better. If someone decides to check themselves as a result of reading about my situation and finds a lump that they otherwise would have ignored, and as a result catch things early then all the better.
In the words of screwfix direct -

Cant rep you any further Jack, but i think everyone who reads this should +rep you:thumb:
