here is a quick thread for my winter strip down! shell is spotless altho a little rough looking around the edges, it is very solid. plan is:

fit new polybushes
new tie bars
fit plating kit
paint engine bay and a general tidy up
fit f18 and hh ms diff
fit helix organic clutch
fit vernier and xe inlet cam.
new injectors
new fpr

understand this corsa is only ever used for thrashing, late night runs and drag racing! so she aint the prettiest girl at the party! but functional. main aim is try get it to handle a wee bit beter!

Have you got it on a manual boost controller? Phase 2 should only hold about 13psi, sounds more like phase 3.5 chipset if its still running amal!

What fuel pressure you running?

A diff won't stop the spinning, sounds like an animal however.

ya an mbc, not running amal, adjusting it off the actuator, theres supposed to be phase 2 copies but a havnt a clue now, running 3.2 bar off vacum at idle with saab reds.

diff has definatley helped tho, its banging like mad but locks up great!

You'll not get the full use of the power until the better weather, I can even get my ecotec cav spinning all over the place lol. My friends 330bhp mk1 RS focus just go's straight to the limiter in most gears!

Next mod, if you havent done it already is the equal length shaft setup, makes a great difference also :)

alan b
03-02-10, 07:04 PM
ya after a few drag's this year ima go for an f28 and equal length set up, altho my diff wont fit an f28 without grinding away the casing!

Looking good mate, just makes me eager to finish my LET project (in the link below in my sig ;) ). I was surprised that you didn't already have the plating kit fitted. I assume that is the HH Fast road kit you're fitting (has 4 plates: tie bar plates and the two mount plates)?

Also intrigued that you are using an F18 after people say the F20 doesn't survive on a LET, let alone with the power your one seems to be making.

Is it possible to have an equal length setup using an F20 setup?

the f18 i put in was ****- and ****ed all in onelol back to an f16 now, which i like as i use it alot for drag racing.! its the full HH kit i just got lazy and didnt take pics of fitting other plates, i no i thaut that she'd be pulling apart abit with not having the kit fitted but the shell was perfect still didnt split anywherelol

So you've the full HH kit then? From the pics you put up it looked like you had the fast road kit, which is why I asked.

How does the F16 fair when being mated to an animal (LET)? I'm only aiming for a LET with standard power but for now doubt I'll go for an F28. There's always mixed reviews with box preferences and like yourself, I have seen a few people running F16's when racing.
