View Full Version : 100mm lowered
just looking for some info on this
on the rear does it rub on the arch?
my alloys are et49 but have 195/50 tyres on them
would it be ok with 195/45
also what shocks are people using, onviously standard are a no no, dont want the springs falling out
i used 100mm springs on 13" standard steels and it was fine.
also 195/55/15 needed the arches rolling a little
but 195/45/15 will be fine
as for shocks shorten bodyed shocks is what you will need

yeah its me mate with the white nova, i thought all vaux wheels were et49
so 195/45 will be fine with shortened shocks
Not all wheels are the same ET. I presume there 15inch so as above. But every nova is different lol
2 things,
1.it will cause rubbing issues as its a hatch
2. the handling will be shoite on the road....

if you go this low then make sure to get you tracking checked as will proably be out
if you go this low then make sure to get you tracking checked as will proably be out
tracking & camber will definitely be out
Get the rear arches rolled about you will prob be ok. 100 on the front too? You'll need to have a play with the arches i'd say.
100mm is for looks remember guys. Nothing else.
yes tracking will be miles out mine was.
benn i dont know what you going on about 100mm springs i fitted for comfort lol
its for looks really not bothered about the comfort lol i doubt ill be 100 o te front probs about 70mm
/\ 100mm on the back 70mm on the front will be uneven imo better going with 70mm on the back aswell will be alot more comfortable than 100mm
will have a fiddle about with the coilovers on the front when i get them and see what it like
so you don't care that the ride & handling will be crap, and if you hit a bump, positively dangerous, cos it is going to look cool???????
god help us
If you have coilovers then you can wind them right down and try it. If it doesn't work raise or lower.. That's the whole point in coilovers.

im not going to be going round knockhill every day of the week am i lol, for driving around my town and doing odds and ends isnt going to need f1 handling is it
ive had stiff suspencion before as if the was no springs and it dosnt really bother me
why does everyone else go for 100mm? looks i bet
I made the spec on mine so i could do 100mm- and yes its done just for looks.
mines lowered 100mm on the rear with custom springs made by coil springs with shortened bodyed shocks with 15inch cav wheels with 195/45/15 tyres it doesnt scrub at all this is how it lookshttp://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq312/xedan/100_0316.jpg
thats what i want but not a fan of those wheels :)
where can i get shocks from?

im down 100mm at the back with 15" MOs and have the arches rolled. there is literally no more than a few mm gap between the arch and the tyre so i would definetly advise getting the arches done.
