Just what I was thinking.
I'm not sure what turbo that is but its not small !
I don't believe the power figures at all though.
There are several cars with WAY over 600hp though, another well known foreign Mk2 Astra that runs in the 8's being one
Turbo Gavs new turbo isn't shy !

What they dont tell you is what fuel they are using or how much money they have sunk into the build. Even so, if we took it at 700bhp, letting them off for 200, thats still awesome.

baby scale new method of measuring lol
This is the thing really, several cars about that I don't believe are making what they claim BUT they are still massive power in terms of what we have seen over here.
baby scale new method of measuring lol
GT4094R turbo is equal in size to a 6 week old baby lol
if it is over 900bhp then a 10second run is pretty poor surely
if it is over 900bhp then a 10second run is pretty poor surely
Can base that on wheelspin maybe but I would expect it to run faster, especially as its on slicks.
I am confident its VERY powerful but like most things over the water I do take their figures with a pinch of salt.

Very poor IMO.
A 1.8 450hp Civic will do a 10.5 pass.
Difficult to compare the 2 cars though, Civics are just mental off the line where as anything else is crap !
That is however not what I would expect to be doing with 900hp !
Hmm true, but a B18 engined Civic, even a stripped out still weights in at over 1.2 tonne. Where as a 5 seater Nova with a LET only weights what, 900kg?

Which is probably why the civic pulls off the line a lot easier, sure the Nova probably has more capacity to peel away from the line... now find a driver with a sensitive enough foot to use it lol

I still think its a poor show, even in a bigger heavier car (Astra obviously) they weight about the same as an EK Civic of instance.
900 horse powers of FWD you'd at least expect 9 or less surely!

aye, pretty sure that's what the NZ one that was posted up aaages ago ran most of the time, down into high 8's, that was supposed to be about 950 on massive hoosier style drag fronts.

10.6 from 500bhp and that was 2 years ago!!
Hondas hook up well because of how the engines work, think about it ;)
Does a Civic stripped out seriously weigh that much ?? I find that very hard to believe

Be a damn sight cheaper to build aswell lol

Yep, the rear seats literally weight about 5kg (both parts) the interior trims weight grams. There really isnt much weight you can save in them short of carbon panels & perspex really. (that was an EK model which we put a teg engine into - EG models could be heavier/lighter I dont know?)
A B18 motor weights nearly the same as a GM 2.6 V6. It took 5 of us to lift a B18C & S80 box out the back of my Corsa for some kinds of reference.
according to wikipedia a filth gen (eg) civic weighs a ton!!
an EK weighs about 50kgs more than the eg
according to wikipedia a filth gen (eg) civic weighs a ton!!
What about the EK's Burgo (6th gen) surely there a lot heavier, my mates one weighted a fecking tonne as a shell, nowhere near like a Nova where you can lift the shell an roll it.
EDIT: Surely that cant be right :S there massivly heavier then that, even the fecking engines weight about 350kg!!
see edit ;)

Have heard of 900BHP from a LET a while ago but again I don't think there was any real proof. There was a foreign Nova with 660BHP IIRC from a LET which sounded immense.
Really needs to be a 4x4 setup to get the best off-the-line start, a little too much power for a FWD car that weighs nothing/little.

what about this one runnin very low 9s
the 660bhp one i heard was a tuning company had built the engine to prove what they could do. then they decided to bolt it into a car and happened to have the nova sitting in the car park.

Yeah IIRC a Finnish tuning company. Must cost a few bob trying to get thatmuch power out of it. NOS FTW lol
White nova mentioned was Firges Sport one.
Crazy thing that just proved a LONG time ago that massive power fwd novas were good for 2 things only
1-Drag Racing
2-Rolling road days
actually 3
Ricks garage
lol lol lol
Funny as fook, but ultimatly true thought

TBH you can make any engine push out many times it's original power, its just a case of having enough/unlimited money to be able to make/buy all the uprated parts and doing a lot of trail and error tuning.
