Built one of these today, got it as a Christmas present. Pretty fun, good practice for the XE I'm building lol For those that haven't seen them, it's a plastic airfix-style kit where you assemble everything in to a "working" engine (runs off a little motor and simulates sparkplug spark with a little LED!)

Took me the afternoon, doing it on and off with some other stuff. That includes time for soldering one of the wires back on to the motor that I managed to snap off. lol Could probably do it in a couple of hrs if you concentrated on it.

i put a whole digger engine back together in 3hrs.....

there were probably a lot less components in the digger engine & you could get away with the odd bit of hitting with a hammer.. whereas yours is more like putting a watch together

seen these in the local motor factors, they do look pretty funky and are based on the older engines that had fan belt driven fans

DONT RUN IT ANYMORE!!!!! there is no oil in the sump lol

It has a smearing of vegetable oil on the bearings for lubrication as per the instructions lol

Is the cam or fan belt (forget which) still an utter ******* to get on, or have they made it a mm longer since I got one about 5 years ago? lol

my timing belt snapped on my haynes one and it only done about 0.3 mile but im thinking seal mines up so i can put oil in it lol semi synthetic
