Do gsi have bigger front anti roll bars to my 1.2? if so whats involved in getting them to fit. Also do they have a rear anti roll bar? and what does it take to fit that also.

Yes a GSi shares the larger (22mm iirc) RB with the TD Novas. You will need the ARB clamps that match the 22mm ARB & possibly the larger tie bars from a 1600 or TD Nova. However, the done thing is to leave it off the front & just use a rear ARB. The fr ones are a very primitive design & actually spoil the handling when the shocks & springs are stiffened up (std stuff is binned).
i'd be surprised if a 1.2 has them tbh, both are just a case of bolting them on.

A saloon would.
But typically, no 1.2's come with the ARB's.
i must be odd, i have arb's on my 1.6 & i like the handling.

Tbh, I always ran a GSi ARB on my (GSi oddly enough), since I built it last autumn it ran without & after getting the coilovers on in the spring of this year, I liked it fine without the ARB. It's not a vast difference but probably does turn-in a bit nicer. For the sake of carrying around the weight of the ARB, I'd leave it off.

My 1.2 merit has a very thin front anti rollbar and it came like that.Had it 15 years so never been messed with.So no benefit if i fit a gsi front one then? Where does a rear one bolt too?
the rear one fits into the square holes on the rear beam, you slot it in & bolt it up, 2 minute job.
it all depends on what suspension & wheels/tyres you are running
