good, but you may need a heatgun/hairdryer as it isn't precurved

i used a spray bottle with a mixture of washing up liquid and water ;)

Save your money and pay a professional, the money they charge is justified, once you've tried it imo

yeah, how much roughly does it cost for a full tint? and also can they do with windows still in car?

Seven windows (2/3 door Nova) I've been quoted £210 and yes they leave the windows in the car

I wouldnt bother
If your asking what the chances are you will balls it up then you obviously arent confident in your own work so leave it to someone who can/has done it.

I do want to learn but its not worth the risk.

Side windows are easy, you'll have to take the heat gun to the rear so you don't get creases due to the curvature

I've messed around with film on perfectly flat domestic windows and after that I wouldn't even attempt a car unless the glass was out on the bench.

Tbh mate if you said that to everything you couldnt do no one would ever learn anything! Yes i see what your saying but people say this too much to others. Have a go if you want or just spend a bit more and pay someone else...simple:thumb:

well give it a go and post up the results later in "styling";)

As said there is a nack to it do not try to rush it!

EDIT; tbh mate for the time and money you will spend doing this yourself,id get the yellow pages out or the local paper our and try one of the local window tint specialists.
Theres around three of them around my area and one guy does three windows for £89.

IMO it's not that hard, i did my mates car once, found it easy enough, just dont make the washing liquid to water mix too high, you dont want shed loads of bubbles! lol and make sure you put plenty on, thats how you position it, then just gently use an applicator (credit type card, with a soft cloth over it, like a duster) use it to slowly gently squeeze the liquid from under the film to the edge, if you can use a rubber window squeegee.

I didn't find it hard just the end results were disappointing, Spent ages cleaning the glass and surrounding area and still ended up with bits of grit and pubes in it

Another mate had it done pro, and his came back with wobbly cuts to the edge, and bits/bubbles under it, and i would not pay £200+ for something that i think i could of done better, if it was me and i HAD to tint glass i would get none shaped and then you can cut it right into the edges etc, but if it was me i wouldn't tint glass full stop IMO it just looks chav/****.

^ great until it scags!!!

Either pay someone to do it or dont bother. Plus tints are abit naff IMO. Well, if its limo black!!!

My mate did my first (waaay back in 2001) Nova for me, took all the windows out, did it in my mums living room and left them overnight before refitting them.

Shame the actual kit doesn't come with light tint all round. IMO limo black will make it look like a van. But for DIY purposes the pre cut ones will increase the chance of doing it properly.

i can get 2qtr windows and rear window £40 if they to take ity out or £30 if i take out

That's cheap, but are they any good for that price? Novas look chav if the tints are stupid dark. Best tints for a Nova are very light smoke on clear glass. If the glass is already tin,ted i.e green then no tints are better.

I'd tint mine only coz it's clear glass and I'd only use light smoke.
