I'm trying to fit a dashboard from a diesel mk2 into my petrol mk1 corsa A/nova. I made everything work except the tachometer. On idle, it shows around 250rpm instead of 750-800 rpm.
Does anyone knows how can i modify (if possible) the tachometer that i have in order to show the correct rpm?

yes, unfortunately you either need to remove it and swap for a petrol one, or fit a diesel alternator and the correct pulleys, as i'm positive that is where the diesel rev counter trigger works from.

a good electronics person could make you a piggyback circuit, but getting it accurate may be difficult

here, in romania, you don't find any parts to buy for corsa a/nova. it wasn't a common car, so it's very difficult to source parts like that.

Beats a dacia :p

Your best off finding somone with petrol clocks over here that is willing to break them.
