Difference between MK1 and MK2 doors?

is there any difference between MK1 and MK2 doors?

the reason i am asking is because i have got the chance of a BRAND new set of mk2 doors..

but i was planning on fitting on my MK1 Sport!

there may be trouble when coming to fit decals??

Door handles are different on early cars. Slighty different placed and size iirc.

But Later mk1 and mk2 are the same.

the door check straps will need swapped.

Mk1 doors dont have holes for mk2 door cards either. Well, mine dont anyway....

if you are swapping the pair, then nobody will notice...

my mk2 doors didnt have the bottom door card plastic stud holes for the mk1 cards so i drilled them :D

When ordering decals from dmb graphics you can state weither its early or later doors.

Most Sports now have 'later' doors, that is why I sorted the door position patterns for DMB when they copied my graphics.
The other thing is your door handles will not fit as they are a different size. Vauxhall produced an early black door handle to fit the later doors though if you can get a set, if not you will have to use later blue/grey handles
