the box is a standard 1.3SR box

aka F10/5 with a 4.18FD ratio instead of the 3.94FD used on the 1200's

so any 1.3SR box will do the trick

the 14SR boxes will either be the same, or will be the F10CR which has much closer ratios and is more geared for accelleration and will both also fit the engine fine

agreed

the only *unique* nova sport parts are as follows:

* Exhaust System
* Exhaust Manifold
* Carburettors
* Inlet Manifold
* Fuel and Vacuum Connections
* Air Cleaner
* Alternator Mounting Brackets
* Throttle Linkage
* Heater Hoses
* Modified Cam / Assembly

Hi Simon,

Howzit going mate? :D

The markings on the externals of the boxes can be confusing. But it doesnt matter - F10 and F13's seem to be totally interchangeable.

ratio wise the best is the F10/13 5CR as mentioned above - you will almost certainly find this box in a std 1.4 SR if you cant get it elsewhere.
As Aragorn says you can find yourself a 4.18:1 FD which tend to be found in GTE and GSI ( tho not always) which will give you a sportier feel esp 3rd - 4th and a bit lower top speed. Otherwise stick to the 3.94:1 that will be in the box already which is pretty good anyway.

The ratios in the 1.4 SR boxes are:
1st 3.55 :1
2nd 2.24:1
3rd 1.48:1
4th 1.12:1
5th 0.89:1
I have counted teeth and checked this

Cheers
CP

well the F10 bellhousing wont fit over the larger flywheel on 1600's

BUT the F13 would prolly fit on a smaller engine...

the only problem would be you'd most likely need the mounts for the starter re-machined cos it will be in a different place on the larger box

and the GTE/GSi tend to have lower FD values to give a higher top end than the SR's - infact im sure the GTE's used 3.55 or summat

the only box im aware of that came with 4,18FD as standard was the F10/5 fitted to the 13SR's

I have replaced my knackered F10 with an F13...its a straight swap, no problems. This was on my 1.3 SR....2nd and 3rd gears where great fun, but 5th was way to wrong a ratio for my wee engine to pull, so I got an F13CR which is much more fun, and again that too is a straight swap, and I mean it is the same shape and everything :)

I have a low milage F13 if you want one, but I would recommend the F13CR, or the F10, but the CR is better

Hi guys thanx for the replies to answer your questions.

The sport has a non split folding rear seat tho mine has no seats at all just a drivers seat LOL
I want a closer box ratio between 3 and 4th as I change into 4th the car dies almost off cam so I think the one from a Nova 1.4SR will suit the bill
