View Full Version : price for nova sport engine?
there is a Nova sport engine for sale over in buy and sell.
as well as the normal spec it has a kent cam, vernier pully and boost valve.
Head gasket is gone.
How much are they worth. would like to buy it but no price is given. i would like to have an idea befor ringing
The sport engine was a standard 1.3 from the factory with the carbs, manifold and cam in the boot. so really it's nothing special but with a special/performance inlet. Without the inlet manifold and cam it would be worth about ?50 but with the head gasket gone it's worth nothing.
As it stands I'd pay ?50 - ?70 max to get the performance bits.

because mate what caused the head gasket to go...............
probly thrashing it, racing when cold, other damage, could be anything........
depending how long the gasket gone oil mixes with water and everything do the bores could be damaged or anything like that

After skimming and etc.
theres a gsi engine (fsh) and gearbox+loom etc on adtrader in my area for ?85!
Solid and runs apparantly - cars knackered though
don't know whats the story with a boost valve in it, thats what is advertised. i presume it can still be used as some sort of regulator for webers.
?85 is damn cheap ade. they are hard to get over here.

lol got them coming out my ears, no one wants them nowadays there all going for Valver's, took me months to sell my last one.
For ?100 you can get the Engine, altenator, gearbox, wiring loom, starter, fuel pump/lines, shafts, ECU etc etc.
Theres no money in them.
Crazy as there great engines.
