The Toyos are decent tyres in my opinion. Alternatively plenty of people rate the Kumho KU31's as good tyres, especially for the money. Check them out too.
Which set you pick 45 v 50 aspect ratio will depend on what you want to use them for. 50s will give slightly comfier ride, 45s will handle a bit better. See what you're running at the moment and check your arch clearance, 50s might rub if you're on 45s at the moment.

You'll get more clearance with the 45's but IMO 50's look a lot better but clearance comes into play...

Uber squidgy sidewall.
I would say the price difference isnt worth the few mm tbh. Plus CR gearboxes are bad enough as it is, without reducing the rolling radius & losing even more top speed/economy.
Different manufacturers tyres come up at different sizing, so a 45 from brandX could be the same as brandY's 50. Bear that in mind.
arl check them out now pal, ive rolled my arches just couldnt think if to have 45 or 50's, might have to be 45's, buyin coilovers at some point and will have them quite low so will need the clearance, thanks for the help!

I cant see why 45's would go any lower than 50's. You would be hitting things like the exhaust & sump before the tyres will foul.
Yoko 50's.

im liking them dude! i looked for a pair of 50's in kumho and they where £144 but the 45's where £135
going rate round here is £10 per tyre fitting :s
I went to a tyre place and got a quote of £1 less per tyre than camskill, but that included fitting!!! so ultimately £44 cheaper lol

How can fatter tyres look better??
45s FTW
If you need clearance/are bothered by looks, get 45s.
I use 50s because my car aint really a show car, and they are cheaper... My tyres dont tend to last long when the car does see use... lol
I had some 195/50/15 Yokohama Parada Spec 2 on MK3 astra sport alloys on my car not long ago (only a temp try) and they didn't scrub or touch anything and gave unreal levels of grip even in the wet, compared to the 195/55/15 Nankang ditch finders I have on now, worst tyres EVER in this weather, the back end is everywhere but where I want it.
See, i had parada 2;s and thought they were s**t in the wet lol
Rainsports FTW for british weather

Compared to the Nankangs I have on now, Colway killers would be an improvement.
I HAMMERED some Nankangs around Donny, and they held up ok for a cheap tyre
Kumho ku31 are the same price tho, and TWICE as good as nankangs
Would you recommend these kumho ku31's over Parada's or Proxies etc, I want some good rubber in the new year for as cheap as possible.
