Good bit of fabrication skills there, but not a fan of the roof chop or the blended tailgate but then again aint my car so crack on with it :thumb:

This car is cool as fcuk. Wheels suit it perfect and so does the chop and wide body. The engine and fabrication is even better!
Seriously well done.
Finally someone who just does it instead of talking about it :) Look forward to teh final result!

On the other hand, I now know what it looks like. May not be to everyone's taste but I think it looks cool as a very cool thing! :thumb:
I reckon you'll have loads of fun getting the glass (especially the front windscreen) to fit. Good luck, I'll be keeping an eye on this. :)

:thumb: The rack mount had to be totaly cut out along with the cross beam, caused a big headach and had to fabricate a whole new one that went higher to clear the transfer. Thanks for all the possitive replys everyone:thumb: I've had the front screen cut down but the side windows will have to be made from polycarbonate

love the look of this to be honest.
looks like you're doing a great job aswell.
very nice to see someone attempting something different..........and personally i like it(although it wouldnt normally be my type of thing)
with the lowered roof/widened shell/big wheels/tyres....it'll have one hell of a nice stance.
never mind the fact that its runing cav turbo running gear.
great job mate............look forward to seeing some more pictures of your progress.
it looks a bit too hotwheels for me, but the work that has gone into it is excellent.. I'm not sure about the smoothed hatch though....
I was talking with burgo at the xmas meet about if i was doing a mid engined hatch, i'd cut the shell lengthways from behind the screen and widen the whole rear end to A. get rid of the strange tapering of the shell, and B to keep it looking right.. i'd not put any thought into moving the rear quarter panels out. and I have to say that your solution looks very good
i was about to start slating you untill i saw the piccys! theres been sooooo many people sign up with a similar username and say there doing a 4x4 but what engine to use what box prop running lgear etc etc! Some nice work gone in but im not to keen on the big wheels but should get some serious rubber down lol when will it be finished? PVS outing? Keep the pics coming!
Definitely one to be subscribed too :)
Well done for getting stuck into it, the wrok looks top notch...waiting for a updates :)

Excellent ! Like has been said fair play to you for getting on with it instead of just talking about it ! Loving the roof chop and the way you've done the rear end, just one question... What are you going to do regarding the glass, just make it all out of perspex or polycarbonate etc ? Top effort and look forward to seeing more updates :)

in regards to burgos coment no its not me mate fingers crossed mine will be done by pv though so you can see it then
i had a different line of attack though i never used the cally floor plan i have gone for a semi space framed aproch but utilising the rear sub frame from the cally my biggest head ach bar the fabrication side at the min is finding somewhere decent to map my mbe management on the let with 4wd rollers and with the spec the engines got im not risking home brew live mapping not when were aiming for 400 plus!
top job by the way fella very nearly went this root myself but wayed up pros and cons and decided against in the end but top bombing well impressed cant wait to get mine finished now
CRAZY!!! some amazing works gone into it! keep going!
fapping awesome fabrication work there bud keep it uy.

I planned on building something similar to this one day, with everything made of fibreglass and a 6 speed gearbox and try to make it go 200mph.
Nice to see something like this finally getting made.

How did I miss this thread! Great work gone into it. Looking forward to seeing it finished.
Any plans to have it sit lower? It does look a little 4x4.
my biggest head ach bar the fabrication side at the min is finding somewhere decent to map my mbe management on the let with 4wd rollers and with the spec the engines got im not risking home brew live mapping not when were aiming for 400 plus!
Why not get it live mapped on the road? lots of companies offer this service.
Great work on this car, fair play to you.
did you literally just chop 3" off the roof pillars then remount to suit?

Ste,
it would be an understatement to say Steve at SBDev (MBE's main distributor) knows his onions with regards to mapping MBE ECU's. If you so wish, he can come to any 4WD dyno of your preference. Not cheap though!
Alternatively you can remove the RWD propshaft and visit Steve and Steve at Track and Road. Top blokes and (also) well recommended.
Hope this helps,
Niek
Hi, top project, not to far away from you in Melton Mowbray is a company called Tractive Solutions who have a 4wd rota valve rolling road, the owner is proper clued up maps allsorts including my race car that i run on MBE. if helps
