I want to take the bumper strips off the side of my car but below the strips (from the strip to the bottom of the car) has been undersealed or something.
What should i do??
How do i take the underseal stuff off? should i sand it down and then have to re-sray the side of my car?
Also what about taking off the plastic sh!t between you windows on the side of the car?
wheay!!! your in EXACTLY the same position as me! except iv alread started taking the strips off the pasenger side, and it looks ok, as long as who ever put the stone chip stuff on did it neatly, if its the same as mine it looks like bumpy stuff up to the bump strip yeah? i think it sands down prety well, but im temped to just keep it. and i would be interested to find how you get the vynal off.

You need:
A hairdrier
An old credit card with some cloth to wrap it in
Lots of fingernails
Some autoglym glue and tar remover
A swarmish day (dont even bother when its cold)
T cut+paint restorer
And LOTS of patience
Basically its vinyl stuck onto the car.
heat it up gently and it will peel off. Use the credit card wrapped in cloth to assist.
Then you need lots of glue remover to remove the shitty 10+year old glue from underneath.
Looks miles newer and better with it gone- but be warned, there might be some small rust spots underneath, and because its been covered over for years, the paint will be a slightly different shade underneath (very very noticable on a red car). S will need to t cut and use autoglym paint restorer to bring the paintwork above it back to a similar sort of shade.
Its worth it- but just expect some problems underneath (for example- one of my panlels had been keyed and the bodyshop just masked it off- meaning when it was removed there wa a lovely ridge of paint underneath :o )
Give it a go.

The bit under the bumper strips it painted on. Like thick tar stuff. I dont think tar remover will do it! It isnt vinyl. But the bits in between the windows is and i will give it a go.
like i said same as me, and it is vynal
...well its sticky back plasic, but people understand it when its called vinyl

No No No. I mean that the bottom of my doors are painted with underseal. So when i take off the bumper strips I will have half a red door then the bottom half will be black underseal shit. Have a look at my second feature car.
...yeah same as mine...but mines been painted white, ok when you toutch it is it ROCK hard or scwigy?

I got one of them glass scraper things from a diy store and lightly scraped it off. On some parts where i got pissed off i've scraped off the white paint underneath but on most parts it is fine. You have to think why its been sprayed with that though, as mine was sprayed by the bloke who sold it to me to cover the large ammount of rust that was there, could be the same for you!!

thats what mine looks like now. i think it has had new sills and thats why it has been painted. what did you do when you got it off? did you re-spray it?

nope just a glass scraper lightly on the paint and that was it, was only cheap paint they had added. Now mine is like this...

The dark line is a shadow as the contour of the door changes, not a patch lol
such a good improvment for sumthin so simple.
i want to do that with mine but i'm scared it might need a respray after.. and i cant afford it just now.
is the underseal tacky to the touch (waxoyl do an underbody sealer thats tacky) - something like acetone will shift this.
If you remove it you'll probablky have to respray it which isnt as hard as it sounds.
To be honest you can use the "shadow line" that woo mentioned as a guide. you mask off the whole car except that area but instead of running a hard edge along the line (with masking tape) you create a soft edge using folded back paper (imaging folding a devet back on itself) the curved edge acts as a vortex breaking up any lines. you need to obviously remember to spray several thin layers and you can move the masked line back at each spray to blend it.
Once done leave to harden for a week or so and buff up!
Perfect
