We have Hilux's, L200's and couple of defenders at work and nothing can touch our defenders, there not as comfortable on the road but off it they come into there own.

I'm looking at 4x4's at the mo, after I got snowed in at my gf's village on sunday - when I say snow i mean half inch think compact snow - 180bhp fwd did not like that.

Where you working now GC? I work for cool-move (http://www.cool-move.com) in Yeovil, so probably know the company or even sold the vehicle lol

I use this as my everyday car, currently running on 80/20 offroad tyres, just superb in the current conditions, passed many people struggling for grip.

Been an absolute hootlol

Japanese trucks are good, use less fuel and definitely more reliable but I'd have my Range Rover everytime in the rough stuff, just my opinion.

Hilux and L200's are a little light at the rear, sure they'll be fine with a little ballast, the old Ford Rangers at work were awful:roll: .

Enjoy the Shogun, just remember it's great having 4wd to get going, but too much momentum can cause great difficulty stopping..........talking from personal experiencelol

mowgli, you had any problems with your L200.

kellys step dad has the "animal" one and it keeps leaking oil and eating engines.

he has already had one replaced

we have had 6 on our firm since 2003.

the 1st one got written off (it hurt)
the next 2 were awesome & ran like clockwork, and got traded in.
the 3 we've got now are just as good

they are all old shape ones. my current 07 reg has done 32k and hasn't even blown a bulb.

they need servicing right, 4500miles on normal oil, or 9k on synth. they all wear the outsides of the front tyres.

yes, they are light on the 4rse end, but a few hundred kilos of gear & an ifor williams top box keep them planted. empty, they are hilarious.

i've been towing a very heavy trailer today & with 4H selected, it went everywhere i wanted it to, but it did need the diff lock on one hill.

my nephew has a swb landy & i despise it
