Hi guys I have happily owned this nova for over four years and this what it looked like when I bought it (sory for the bad english):

Started to mess a little with it:

Time passed by I decided to convert it in to a gsi. Bought a whole interior which was fairly in good condition except the driver’s side which I took for repair and I very pleased of what they’ve done.

This is how the interior arrived:

Didn’t post all the picture and changed form the old interior to the new

Where you from then, Malta?

Scott

Yep I from Malta. At the moment I’m currently changing my engine to a 1.6 gsi engine. Most of the things I got were all most from here. Here in Malta not even a single gsi was produced so parts have to be shipped like I did my self.

This is a picture of how the car looks like at the moment:

This week I started removing the old engine and now I’m cleaning the engine bay so that i can spray it.
This was the engine bay a week ago, standard engine 1.2:

One thing many of us over hear would had a dam rusty battery tray area, and rust coming in under the seam sealer, hope there is none underneath that sealer on the seams, should maybe remove it to make sure?

Exactly what I was thinking. Remember kids, shells don't rust as quick in warm and sunny countries as they do in rain soaked places such as the ones we live in.

Perhaps a bit OT - when I visited Tunesia back in 1979 (yes I'm that old) there were numerous Peugeot 403's around being used as taxi. I reckon they're still around now, perhaps with a recon engine but otherwise still fine. Same in Portugal, in the early 80's they were running ancient Mercedes-Benz 190's (the round model from the 1950's) as taxi's. Amazing! /OT.

Luke, very nice car you have there mate - white cars are great to work on. Engine bay looks spotless. Enjoy! :thumb:

Yep I know I bought them 2 years ago which were brand new and I did have in mind to make the car how it is today. Few weeks ago i was going to buy calibra turbo wheels but had some problem to send them. At the moment I currently use a coil over suspension at the front “FK” but there not that good. The road holding is really good but the ride isn’t that good it’s like driving a go-cart. I’ve done some modification on them but still they are not that good and I have to solve this problem. Mean while on the spray some of my friends suggested to do this colour but I’m not in to fords and still I the car looks great in white.

Wheels, like most things round and shiny, are largely a matter of personal taste. Considering the Nova has a rather boxy shape, I for one would not opt for wheels with lots of "roundness" (if such a thing exists). My favourite is the (15 inch x 6J) CD-Design, made by Borbet back in the late eighties. These have an offset of 49mm (ET49) so are well suited to Nova's.

If you don't want to go mega low, I think the best choice would be a Bilstein B12 kit all round. This kit lowers your car a decent 40mm, gives reasonable comfort over bumpy roads (of which Malta has loads) and improves handling quite a bit. Admitted, it won't be as communicative as the FK setup, but it surely won't go wallowing round the twisty bits. :)

As said before - keep it white. Looks pristine mate!
