Yes I am there's something that's doing my head in. I go out everyday in it but no longer feel that specialness. It's like I'm ready for a change but not sure what to do.
I'm not selling it but want more out of the old gal but don't know what to do! Not xeing as I've been out in quite a few and it still lacking, also would like a LET but I want a car I can use day to day oh and cornering (v6 RJ is well out) so suggestions before I scrappage it for a new motor.

Cheers David

1.6 8v turbo? will go pretty well id think plus the handling wont suffer badly either

Nah I'd probably be better off turboing my existing 16xe but messing about with lowing compression put me off. I've had 8valves and not going back now.

Humm actually, silly thing is cant believe you haven't said this your self..

TB the 16xe, as we know Oli Danker proved there a dam good engine to do it too.. without making it un-daily friendly you could see 180+bhp from it..

And trust me that with the response TB's add will be enough to keep you happy (lol the sound alone will make you smile every drive!)

Hmmm, i'd say a tuned xe. 175bhp easily acheivable for little ££ imo. mega reliable still too.

If it's losing it's appeal, get a cheap daily.

Well it's something that I've considered obviously due to having the bike carbs on the 8 valve. It's not the cheapest of options though and with money tight then it's a no, and I'm oooot.

This is also true, just the fact you drive something more dull will make driving the nova more fun..

Yeah id go for a tuned XE. and strip everything off the car that adds unneccessary weight if you havent already.

Get another car. No matter what you do on the nova your be bored of it after a while.

This is my reason for the tigra/corsa.

Agree with Rich, iirc didn't you say your engine had cams in it anyway, bodies and management all the way for me

It's the winter blues mate, it's no fun seeing your car covered in salty crap and driving in crap weather all the time. You'd feed the same nomatter what you'd drive.

You'll be happy come the summer again!

The opposite is true for me, i bought a daily drive and it made me think "Why bother keeping the nova?" even more than before lol lol

Ive bought a few bits for it recently, and have a few plans, so im hoping that will get me some interest back in it.
Also, the trackday in Feb is something to look forward to and give me a reason to keep it... :)

Don't think I'd ever ever lose interest in the Nova, especially after the LET has been fitted.

Mr. Southie, if you is feeling bored with it why not make it more hardcore, maybe hone it's handling and have more emphasis on that or tune the 16xe.

Hang on... Are we all forgetting something, this is the point of modifying cars, if you get "comfortable" with how the car is, then we buy new gizmo's and change (modify) things to change it and make it better, and less dull!
