Found this picture on my laptop
The J reg Nova beside mine is a before, un-loved and unpolished Flame Red and mine beside it is one that gets regularly polished and waxed etc
An amazing difference:

Oh you dont understand me again ffs lol
I mean, i know they are both the same colour, i prefer the darker shade that wasnt looked after but it just isnt shiny, and what an interesting difference between the 2 colours that should be the same.

Ahh right, I thought you meant Carmine Red as opposed to Flame...
Its so boring and tedious to polish it all etc. Not getting out and use it like you always say...

When you don't have a license you can polish and polish away but when you have a license you use it :thumb:
Which is exactly what I done - Car's not been polished since about August but been regularly washed

Looks like a late registered Mk1 with a mk2 bumper. (alot of older shape vans get sold off after the normal cars are facelifted) - Meaning the colour difference will be the fact its Carmine Red, not an unpolished Flame red!
^ But you get mk1s in flame red too. I had one. Carmine is much darker red.
Carmine is nice imo doesn't fade to pink either looks more orange when the two are together

/\ As Graeme says, I've always thought Carmine Red is more Orangey than Flame Red, unless the flame Red in question is horrendously oxidised & looking more Pinky white.
Great pic though Vaughan.
The same difference can be seen here, a 1998 S reg astra parked behind my 1993 late K reg cav.....

/\ Both look Pink!
My Bros old mk4 Astra was same as that one, turned out one of my old clients got it as a trade-in & the next day it was the brightest Flame Red I'd ever seen. Proper polish session FTW!
Cheeky sod lol
Its far 'redder' than the disastra is though:thumb:
cav looks sooooooo much better :D

Thats a NICE Cav !
My old hatch had gone beyond pink but my mate flatted it and machine polished it and it always lasted for a month, then I just colour magic'd it before shows etc
